1001 Nights: Yeah, I heard about that. I also heard that at a Press Conference yesterday, she really defended herself well. Hoping that footage comes out ;-)

Navy Girl: Well, you know, when it comes to elections, I try not to get too deeply involved with one candidate or another. I mean I have those who I support, of course but a lot of times, I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for until the last week. I like basing my decisions on positions rather than people's backgrounds.

After I saw what they did to a Kuwaiti woman, who has a very similar background that a lot of us in the blog-world have (English Speaking, US Grad, Open Minded)...it got me motivated to get more involved and just talk shed some light on the whole topic. We're in Kuwait, and this type of dirty politics is what caused the Parliament to be dissolved in the first place.

Basically, Aseel teaches a class called "Critical Thinking" that lasts an hour long. A person edited (cut and pasted) parts of a number of different lectures into a one minute sound clip. Using audio software, they made her sound as if she is saying that the 7ijaab is only a religious obligation for the wives of the Prophet (PBUH). That's how this storm of rumors and dirty politics began...
